Virginia’s Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission (JLARC) unanimously votes to study Court Appointed Guardianships

Today on the third anniversary of my sisters death while in the custody of professional court appointed guardians, Virginia’s full Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission (JLARC) unanimously voted to study Court Appointed Guardianships and Guardianship laws in 2021. This is a very important first step in tackling the inherent problems with court appointed professional guardians and the neglect, abuse, and exploitation of wards, primarily the elderly and disabled. The next step is effecting laws in response to the study findings.
